Abstract
Aged care nurses are part of the primary health care (PHC) nursing workforce but very little data is collected or available to government and the aged care sector to assist with workforce planning. The Australian Primary Health Care Nurses Association (APNA) conducts an annual Workforce Survey which provides valuable insights into PHC nurses including those working in aged care. The data of ~4,000 PHC nurses including demographics, clinical care activity and intention to remain in the sector will be presented along with insights into how to attract and retain this critical workforce.
