Biography

 

Sue Thomson is the Chief Executive Officer at McLean Care, an award- winning, not for profit aged care provider.  Sue is the visionary behind the award winning, iAgeHealth. Her passion and commitment to the health and wellbeing of the ageing population in regional, rural and remote (RRR) areas is a result of over 20 years’ lived experience and service. Driving the innovation and creation of iAgeHealth which is delivering improved clinical outcomes for vulnerable people and addressing workforce challenges globally.   

Under her leadership, McLean Care has enjoyed significant growth over the last five years, and been recognised internationally, winning the 9th Eldercare Innovation Awards 2021 Best Ageing Research and in 2019 winning three categories including Innovation of the Year (Technology), Best Solution to Support Ageing in Place – Wellness and Best Smart Care Technology Product. 

McLean Care / iAgeHealth is currently a finalist in the 12th Asia Pacific Eldercare Innovation Awards in 3 categories: Innovation of the year – Ageing in Place Model, Innovation of the Year – Technology Product by Operator, Innovation of the Year – Smart Care technology and just won the ITAC 2024 Best Technology Implementation award. 

A champion for innovation in the sector, with a particular focus on geographical disadvantage, harnessing emerging technologies to help address workforce and other pressing sector challenges. Sue is passionate about using her voice on a global platform to bring both awareness and solutions to address health inequities in disadvantaged communities.
